Publishing Terms
The foundation welcomes submissions from researchers and writers. These terms explain what we publish, how to submit work, and how submissions are reviewed.
What We Publish
Research & Studies
Original research on cultural, social, and intellectual questions. Typically 4,000 to 10,000 words with full source references.
Articles
Essays and analytical pieces written for a general readership. Typically 1,200 to 3,000 words.
Dialogues
Edited transcripts, interviews, and records of seminars and public discussions held by the foundation or its partners.
Translations
Translations into Arabic of significant work, published with the rights holder's permission.
Submission Requirements
- Work must be original and not published elsewhere, in whole or in substantial part.
- Submit in Arabic or English as an editable document. Please do not send scanned images of text.
- Include the author's full name, a short biography of no more than eighty words, and current contact details.
- Sources must be cited consistently throughout, using any recognised citation style applied uniformly.
- Quotations, images, and data taken from other work must be attributed, and permission obtained where the material is under copyright.
- Submissions should be sent to the foundation through the contact page.
Review Process
- Receipt is acknowledged within one week.
- The editorial team carries out an initial assessment of scope and suitability.
- Work that passes this stage is read by one or more specialist reviewers.
- The author receives a decision, together with the reviewers' comments, normally within six weeks.
- Accepted work is edited in consultation with the author, who approves the final text before publication.
Rights and Ethical Standards
Authors retain copyright in their work and grant the foundation the right to publish it and keep it available. Work may be republished elsewhere provided the foundation is credited as the original place of publication.
The views expressed in published work are the author's own and do not necessarily represent the position of the foundation. We do not publish material that incites hatred or violence against any group, that misrepresents its sources, or that has been produced without proper attribution. Any conflict of interest bearing on the work must be disclosed at the time of submission.
The foundation does not charge submission or publication fees, and does not pay for contributions.
